My dear Wilson,

Many thanks for your letter of August 9th,

regarding the tender of the Hong Kong and Whampoa

Dock Company for the construction of our floating

dock.

You may rest assured that the Hong Kong

Company's tender will receive the most sympathetic

consideration, because, apart from the aspects of

the case mentioned in your letter, we are very

anxious, if it can be arranged, to avoid the long

and dangerous tow from England which would be

necessary if the dock has to be constructed in this

country.
